Parents, Balanced Teams is one of the 5 philosophies of AYSO and our Hollywood-Wilshire region strives to uphold our responsibility to achieve the goal of balance teams. Please review our Region's policy, take to heart the reason for this tenant, and do not come forth with requests that are strictly for the convenience of your family.
Policy:
1. Each year we form new teams as evenly balanced as possible—because it is fair and more fun when teams of equal ability play.
2. The only player assigned to a specific team is the child of the head coach.
3. Assistant coaches and their child may be assigned to any head coach's team in order to achieve balanced teams. Stated another way - assistant coaches request to partner with a specific head coach are not honored.
4. EXCEPT for U6, we do not honor any requests for placing children onto specific teams.
5. At the conclusion of each season, each coach is responsible for evaluating the skill set of each player and turn in these evaluations to their divisional commissioner. These evaluations from last season are utilized to balance teams for Fall 2007.
6. Additional information used by Divisional Commissioners to balance teams includes a child's age, size, and years of soccer experience.
