Welcome to AYSO Region 78! We are part of Area P of Section 1 of the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO). We serve the following communities in Los Angeles: Hollywood, Wilshire, Los Feliz, Silver Lake, Echo Park, Hancock Park, Koreatown, Pico Union, West Adams, West Hollywood and neighboring communities.
Region 78 received its charter in 1976. In 2009, for the eighth straight year, Region 78 has been recognized by AYSO as a Platinum region - the highest designation available that recognizes region performance.
Since 2006, we have offfered a Sunday-Play program to enable local youth that previously could not play with us due to religious observances to play.
Since 2007, through an innovative joint-use agreement with LAUSD to operate at the new John Leichty Middle School , Region 78 has brought AYSO to the children of Pico Union. Through this partnership, the district installed a new Sport Turf field and lights for our program and the community. A LA84 Foundation grant equiped this new field and launched the program.
In 2009, Region 78 is implementing an outreach program and registration drive for the children of Koreatown.
AYSO is an ALL-volunteer organization, EVERY participating family must take on a role in the Region. Please join us in providing a high quality youth soccer program for the children of Los Angeles.
